Where will the money raised go?

One of the unique things about this event is that is run by the community for the community! So many volunteers give their time to create a wonderful atmosphere and raise a whopping sum of money for charity.

100% of the profit

goes into local good causes either via the Hedgehogs, St Andrew’s School PTFA or other local groups who volunteer on the day.

We also have Charity Partners each year – this year we are pleased to support The Royal Surrey again in their fundraising efforts to raise money for the cancer unit.
We are also supporting Phylis Tuckwell Hospice this year with their fabulous renovation.

Fundraise for a charity of your choice

Our riders are also welcome to be making their own fundraising initiatives- asking for sponsorship for charities close to their hearts. This year, individual fundraising efforts can be linked to RaceNation when purchasing your tickets! Last year it was tens of thousands of pounds raised and this year we want to do even better! There is literally nothing about this event not to love.

Thank you to everyone for your continued support.

About the Hedgehogs:

The Hedgehogs are Farnham’s local charity formed in 1959 and now a Registered Charity ‘Helping Local People in Need’.  They have a membership of over 50 and are acknowledged as a major support group in the Farnham area.
Over the past 10 years they have raised over a third of a million pounds which has been donated to local individuals in need, organisations and charities within the Farnham locality. The Hedgehogs’ running costs are paid for by members and friends so that all funds raised are used solely for good causes.

About St Andrew’s Infant School

The Farnham Charity Bike Ride was established by St. Andrew’s parents in 2009 when the school were in need of funds for a new roof! The event has grown each year to become a fantastic community event, which attracts cyclists from across the region. In 2017 there were 1475 registered riders of all ages and abilities (the biggest ride yet!). This year we are organising the event with the Hedgehogs and will be raising vital funds to support the school. On the day St. Andrew’s parents and teachers help out with marshalling the route, rider registration, or help out at the refreshment stops. Lots of our students will be cheering riders on.

About Royal Surrey Charity Cancer Centre

Their Cancer Centre Fund supports people living with cancer, who are treated at our Cancer Centre in Guildford (formerly St Luke’s, including Onslow Ward and Chilworth Day Unit).
