What’s new for the Farnham Charity Bike Ride for 2024

Farnham Charity Bike Ride: Sunday 15th September 2024 (start times vary on your route selected)

The Farnham Charity Bike Ride, is now in it’s 16th year with exciting changes ahead. Last year, you helped us raise £20,000 for local charities as well as helping the Royal Surrey Cancer Unit raise a further £16,000!! There was an amazing atmosphere and lots of fun was had by volunteers and riders alike. Thank you.

What’s new…

The main change is the date, the Ride which has usually taken place in July is now moving to later in the year and will now take place in September. There are several reasons for the move, but the main reason was that there was so much else going on at that time, that we felt the bike ride needed a bit more space out of an already hectic month for most.

So the date this year will be Sunday 15th September 2024 – get it in your diaries!

Support your chosen charity

Another significant change is that you will be able to raise money for a charity of your choice – just select at check out when you buy your ticket what charity you would like to support and your money will go to your preferred charity.

Other changes are really behind the scenes...

There are some new people on the organising committee with some fresh ideas, after several years helping St Andrew’s School pull off this wonderful event, The Farnham Round Table are taking a well-earned rest and are stepping down from organising the bike ride. We are incredibly grateful to them for all their hard work.

Thankfully, the Farnham Hedgehogs have agreed to help and have stepped in. The Farnham Hedgehogs already organise lots of local events. Formed in 1959 and now a Registered Charity ‘Helping Local People in Need’, they are well placed to offer expert help organising the event as well as ensuring proceeds provide support in the Farnham area.

Finally for this year, the emphasis will be on celebrating local charities and maximising the fun for all, so there will be more of a carnival atmosphere at the finish line.

What’s staying the same:

  • The course will be largely the same – taking you on a beautiful and challenging course through the Surrey and Hampshire Countryside.
  • We will still be offering a range of distances (16km, 25km, 50km and 75km!) to cater for seriously fast as well as well family friendly rider
  • The Marshalls will still be mostly St Andrews families – cheering you on to provide much needed encouragement to keep you going.
  • Most importantly, it’s still a not for profit ensuring all profit raised goes to local good causes!

Tickets will be going on sale soon, so please register below so that we can notify you when they are released.
